Bacon. Crispy, but not too crispy. Eggs. Basted in bacon grease. Coffee. Dark roast, in my favorite mug.
It don't get no better than that.

I hate ketchup.
I would have gladly eaten more bacon, but if I know my wife, the rest of the bacon will be part of another meal.

Of course you did.
Getting any more sleep at least?

I decided this morning I was going to make a nice breakfast (eggs, hashbrowns) and remembered pretty quick why I don’t often cook breakfast. I don’t need such disaster that early in the day.

Ha! Growing up, about once every five years, my dad would decide that he was going to cook breakfast. Not coincidentally, my mom would get some new pants about once every five years.

Needs a side of hash browns and a short stack of pancakes and perhaps some sausage. Don’t forget a biscuit with some cream gravy.

Hash browns are deceptively tricky...

I promise, it needed nothing. Not that I would have turned down hash browns or pancakes.

Baconception.
A friend of mine used to buy the big package of thick-cut bacon at Sam’s. He would fry it in a cast iron skillet, but never drain the grease. So, by the end of the package, he was deep frying the bacon in bacon grease. My god, was it good.
